5. Map the data fields from your IIF file to the corresponding QuickBooks Online fields and click Next.

6 Select the import options you want and click Next.

7. Click Import.

 

You can view your imported IIF data by going to the Timeless Time & Expense menu and selecting Timesheets or Expenses. You can also run reports to see your imported data in QuickBooks Online.

How to open QuickBooks import/export file (.ii)

Once you import IIF file into QuickBooks, you can open the file by going to File > Open Company. Then, in the Open Company window, select the import file (.ii) and click Open.

You can also export data from QuickBooks to an IIF file. To do this, go to File > Export > Lists to IIF Files. In the Export List dialog box, select the list that you want to export and click OK. 

You will then be prompted to save the IIF file. Choose a location for the file and click Save. Once the file is exported, you can import it into another QuickBooks company file.

Can I import an IIF file into QuickBooks online?

Much like you can import IIF file into QuickBooks desktop, you can also import them into QuickBooks Online. The process is a little different, but the end result is the same. To import an IIF file into QuickBooks Online, go to the Gear icon > Import Data > Transactions.

On the next screen, select iif File. Then click on Browse and locate the IIF file you wish to import. Once you’ve selected the file, click Next. 

On the next screen, you will be able to map the data from your IIF file to the appropriate fields in QuickBooks Online. Make sure that all of the data is mapped correctly and then click Import. 

You have now successfully imported an IIF file into QuickBooks Online!

How do I convert IIF File from Excel to QuickBooks?

If you have an IIF file that is in Excel format, you can convert it to a QuickBooks-compatible IIF file using the IIF Transaction Creator. This is a free tool that can be downloaded from Intuit’s website. 

To use the IIF Transaction Creator, open the Excel file and select the sheet that contains the data you want to convert. Then click on File > Save As and select Text CSV as the file type.

Once the file has been saved as a CSV, open the IIF Transaction Creator and click on File > Open. Locate the CSV file and click Open.

On the next screen, select the type of transactions that are in the CSV file. Then map the columns in the CSV file to the appropriate fields in QuickBooks.

Once you have finished mapping the fields, click on File > Save As and save the file with a .iif extension.

Finally, open QuickBooks and go to File > Utilities > Import > IIF Files. Locate the IIF file you just created and click Open. QuickBooks will now import the transactions from the IIF file.
