You might have heard that there are some changes coming to QuickBook’s customer care policy. However, it’s probably not going to affect you as much as you think. Here’s what you need to know about how and why the QuickBooks customer care policy is changing.

Is QuickBooks desktop being phased out in 2022? 

Sort of. As of May 2023, there won’t be any new add-ons for QuickBooks desktop, and security updates won’t be happening. However, that doesn’t mean your QuickBooks desktop will just stop working. You’ll still be able to use the software and access some help and support.

Why is QuickBooks being discontinued? 

QuickBooks desktop is being phased out in favor of the online version. Since most software these days is going towards being cloud-based, this is actually pretty standard for the industry. The QuickBooks, customer care policy will change a little, but you’ll still be able to use QuickBooks online.

Yes – Intuit, the company that owns QuickBooks, has some of the best technical support in the business. There are lots of help files, tutorials, videos and more online, as well as live support. That means that while your desktop software will still work, there won’t be any more updates or add-ons. So if you haven’t started transitioning to the cloud, you do have time!
